About Acatenango
An overnight trek up Acatenango, the active Fuego volcano's neighbor: a 5-6 hour climb to a camp at roughly 3,800m, dinner, watching Fuego's eruptions after dark, and a descent the next morning. The draw is the natural phenomenon itself — an active volcano erupting at close range — rather than a cultural ritual, the same adventure/adrenaline sub-type of themed experiential stay first established at Huacachina in Peru.
