About Vietnam
Vietnam stretches long enough to pack spectacular karst bays in the north (Ha Long Bay), beautifully preserved French colonial towns in the center (Hoi An), and a lush river delta in the south (Mekong) — plus mountains, rice terraces, and ethnic minority regions along the Chinese and Laotian borders — into one trip. The north-south climate difference is major within the same time of year, which makes circuit planning more complex than an island destination, but the payoff is a diversity that's hard to match on a single overland route.
